Harassment ?

Harassment is a criminal offence. The legal definition and the law in relation to it can be read here.

This is where and why it can be confusing to people. Because in the workplace it usually has a different definition and laws in relation to it. I say 'usually', because the criminal definition of it could be going on.

Harassment in the workplace is normally this definition and is governed by civil law, the Employment Equality Acts 1998-2015.

Enforcement of the civil version is through the WRC and Labour Court.
